A shooting incident occurred in Austin, Texas, on March 1, 2026, at Buford's, a popular beer garden in the city's entertainment district. The incident resulted in three fatalities and 14 injuries, with three of the injured in critical condition.

According to Austin Police Chief Lisa Davis, the police received a call about a "male shooting" at around 1:59 a.m. and confronted the suspect, who was killed by police return fire. The FBI is investigating the incident as a potential act of terrorism, citing indicators on the suspect and in his vehicle that suggest a possible nexus to terrorism .

The suspect, identified as 53-year-old Ndiaga Diagn.e, was originally from Senegal and had become a naturalized U.S. citizen in 2013. He was wearing a sweatshirt with "Property of Allah" and a shirt with an Iranian flag design .

Governor Greg Abbott expressed condolences and stated that Texas would provide all necessary resources to impose the full weight of law on the perpetrator .
